The emphasis is on carbon sequestration projects, especially related to the Clean Development Mechanism though information about fuel switching and biomass projects may have been included where these involve controversial large-scale industrial tree plantations.

Publicly available information about carbon sink projects aiming for CDM registration is expected to grow once parties to the Kyoto Protocol have finalised rules for CDM sinks projects. SinksWatch will scrutinize all carbon sinks projects entering the CDM registration process. This section also includes information about projects in their early stages or where feasibility studies are being carried out, wherever such information is publicly available or has been brought to our attention.
