The Durban Declaration for Climate Justice and against carbon trading came out of a meeting in October 2004 in Durban, South Africa. Representatives from organisations and peoples’ movements from around the globe came together to discuss action for addressing climate change. The group emerged from the meeting with a declaration that identified carbon trading as a false solution that distracts from addressing the cause of the climate crisis - excessive use of fossil fuels. The declaration is available in English, French, German, Italian, Portugese and Spanish. If you wish to sign on, please send an email to info@fern.org.
