Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation in non Annex 1 countries
This paper from the Climate Group and Breaking the Climate Deadlock argues that inclusion of REDD in post-2012 agreements should be part of a global climate deal with more ambitious targets for emissions reductions overall. Rather than relying on REDD to meet existing commitments at a lower cost, the Annex 1 countries should preferably use REDD for negotiating deeper targets.
